Let's finish what we started !

Before starting the entry, first and foremost, I would like to express my gratitude to Allah for the blessings he gave me for nearly 20 years of living in this world. 20 years felt so short, and now, I am here, stranded in this dessert-like climate place called Tronoh, to finish what I started on the 19th of May last year.

Petroleum Geoscience offer letter

3 semesters of foundation with average 17 credit hours for each semester. The foundation programme here do bring us heavy headache, just try to imagine this, you learn about something, you left it for about 4 months and you expect to excel in that. That's how the things work here.
4 months of holiday after SPM > Physics/Chem/Calculus/English > IslamicStudy/Thinking skills/Programming/English > Physics/Chem/Calculus once again.
Those are my subjects that I took for the last 3 semesters. The toughest was the third semester. Everything seemed so blur, especially after finishing the second semester which was quite easy if compared to the other two.

Well, that's the ups and down in life. For the readers who are taking SPM this years, be thankful about it, you have two years to study compared to us who are having less than 6 months to complete the syllabus. Two years should be more than enough to be excellent. Study hard, study smart, doa, insyaAllah it worth the effort you take.

Expectation for the next 4 years :
study > internship > FYP > Graduate > working > find a wife perhaps? > Happily ever after.
To meet above expectation, twice or thrice the current effort need to be applied. InsyaAllah I can do it. Petroleum Geoscientist in making for the next 4 years :)

Do pray for ourselves dear readers, may we all live in His peace and blessings.

TQ for reading !

p/s : Don't forget our Muslims brother in Myanmar, if we can't help them physically, it is enough to pray for them, insyaAllah Allah will help them , Amiin .

[Guide] How to clean virus in USB drive

Hello readers,

Just a simple guide in cleaning virus in USB.

Folder with shortcuts, files missing.

Familiar with this? Shortcuts everywhere? Can't see your files?
Here, try this !

1. Open My Computer
2. Click Alt for menu, find Folder Options. You will be prompted by screen like below.

3. Click at the second tab, View. Scroll down until you see those three items which I highlighted in red.
4. Uncheck them all and apply. You will see your files back then.
5. Copy all your files to anywhere outside the USB.
6. Format USB, put the files back in their original place.
7. Select all, left click, Properties. Change to proper attributes. Not read only.

8. Done.

This technique should work to clean virus/trojan/malware in USB. If it still can't be fixed, try booting with Linux. You may be able to fix it.

Selamat mencuba !

Thanks :)

TUTORIAL : Interested to use Mac on your laptop?

1 week, 7 days, 84 hours, 5040 minutes, 302400 seconds.

Above is the time I used during my semester break doing my dream project. Hackintosh. For those who missed my previous post, Hackintosh is about installing Mac OS on an ordinary laptop. Which in my case, ASUS A43s. The installation is not impossible, but it is sure a very hard thing to do. Installing Windows and Linux is way easier than Mac OS. Bootflags, kernel panic, kext, hardware, boot loader are few things that you have to bare in mind to install Mac OS.

Mac OS 10.7.3 with my laptop specs written there.

FYI, this is 3rd attempt in installing Mac OS. A slight error in choosing Kext or in Windows we call them drivers will cause kernel panic that can cause you difficulty in booting the OS.

Before installing, visit this website to know your computer specs and compatibility.

...and many other websites which you can search for it on Google

Things you should have before installing Mac OS.

1. Blank disc.
2. Mac OS X installation file (can burn it on USB or CD)
3. iBoot
4. Multibeast
5. Patience - You may have to redo the process for several times.

Steps to follow ;

1. Check your hardware compatibility at the websites I have given above.
2. Change your SATA configuration on BIOS to ACHI, there will be option to choose, between ACHI and IDE. Choose ACHI .
  • Entering BIOS menu maybe different with other computer, I use F2 to enter BIOS, other computer may use Esc, Del or others. Better google it first !
3. Change boot order priority to DVD to the first boot.
4. Burn iBoot to the blank disc.
5. Restart computer and mount iBoot.
6. When you reach the iBoot menu, swap the iBoot cd with the Mac OS cd. Press F5.

7. You may have to use some boot flags to boot into the cd. Example of popular boot flags is PCUIDRoot=1, -v, -x, -s, -f. To enter the boot flag, just type the value. Press Enter when finish.
8. When prompted to the Welcome screen, click Utility on the top menu and click the Disk Utility.

9. Set the Format to Mac OS Extended Journal and format the drive. Close the window and proceed to the installation.
10. Installation is around 20 minutes, but can be longer, depends on your system.
11. After finish installation, put your iBoot cd back in the tray and choose hard drive in the iBoot menu.
12. You may have to use the boot flags to boot into the hard drive because there are some hardware that Mac don't support and you have to manually install Kext using Multibeast.

Post installation (compulsory) ;
1. After success booting, set up your Mac.
2. Open up your Multibeast, which you have to download it and put it in a usb drive or cd.
3. Carefully select your Kext, error in selecting your Kext can cause your Hackintosh to have kernel panic and you may have to reinstall it back.
4. The most important thing is to select boot loader, you have to install the boot loader to ensure that you don't need to use the iBoot cd every time want to start your computer .
5. Restart . Your Hackintosh is now ready to be used. Have fun :)

If you have any problems, just leave some comments in the comment section, I will try to assist if I can, feel free to use google to search for any problem if there's any.

Thanks for reading ! Have a great day :)

" Kau Sahabat Kau Teman "

A simple post for my friends and readers, it has been a very long time since my last post. Too busy with study perhaps. Enjoy ;)

Kau Sahabat Kau Teman

Telah tiba saat waktu kau tinggalkan kami
Kerana takdir Yang Maha Esa telah menetapkan
Sedih rasanya hati ini bila mengenangkan
Kau sahabatku kau teman sejati

Tulus ikhlasmu luhur budimu
Bagai tiada pengganti
Senyum tawamu juga katamu
Menghiburkan kami
Memori indah kita bersama
Terus bersemadi
Kau sahabatku kau teman sejati

Sudah ditakdirkan kau pergi dulu
Di saat kau masih diperlukan
Tuhan lebih menyayangi dirimu
Ku pasrah di atas kehendak Yang Esa

Ya Allah
Tempatkannya di tempat yang mulia
Tempat yang diKau janjikan nikmat
Untuk hambaMu

Sahabatku
Akan kuteruskan perjuangan ini
Walau kutahu kau tiada di sisi

Perjuangan kita masih jauh beribu batu
Selagi roh masih di jasad hidup diteruskan
Sedih rasa hati ini mengenangkan dikau
Bagai semalam kau bersama kami

Moga amanlah dan bahgia dikau di sana
Setangkai doa juga Fatihah terus kukirimkan
Moga di sana kau bersama para solihin
Kau sahabatku kau teman sejati

Telah tiba saat waktu kau tinggalkan kami
Kerana takdir Yang Maha Esa telah menetapkan
Sedih rasanya hati ini bila mengenangkan
Kau sahabatku kau teman sejati

Saya dapat 5 A je SPM, boleh lagi ke nak apply mana mana?

Saya dapat 5 A je SPM, boleh lagi ke nak apply mana mana? So, the long awaited results had just came out today. Emotions had been shared since this morning and maybe still be shared at the current time this blog author is updating his blog.

Jangan la sedih camtu, tak comel dah, smile please :)

Three type of faces can be seen today. First, for the one who succeeds, joy can be easily interpreted from the smile and tears from the face, but secondly tears still can also be seen on the face of certain students whose result is not as good as the one who succeeds, and lastly, the heartless and emotionless face can also be seen on the face of students who don't really know what are they doing at school, whether to socialize themselves in a real-life social network or just to get famous to market themselves. Err. Maybe they don't know which one come first and should be make a priority, between school or fame.

As for the teachers, the results of rivalry between schools also come out today. Teachers compete between interschool competition to gain the fame and reputation of their own perspective school. This year, the previous school of mine rivalry's record is not so good, but still, can beat the nearest school that is STJ. Congrats for that ! Congratulation also for the teachers who have been teaching their students throughout the year 2011 :)

Is 17A1 really that excellent? Ask yourselves. (gambar hiasan)

Back to the topic, I highlighted 5 A's for the result because I think that 5 As is a common result and average result for the students. Not so excellent and yet, not a bad result. So, for those who get 5 As, can you still apply for a University? Matrix? IPG? Poli?

YES, you may apply all of them because you are still eligible to apply all of them. Take a look at your exam result slip, THINK AS POSITIVE AS YOU CAN for the result. The world not yet ends !  Revise your slip, and make decision for which part that can give you credits to apply for University. I mean, if your Biology results is not good, don't go for Bio in the university, take physics, or you can even take accounting, lawyer, religious, language and many other areas :) Just leave all the childhood ambition and start to think for you adulthood life in the future.

Your life has just begin. I have a friend that has been scoring 4.0 for the past few semester in Matrix and for your information, she did not get straight As in her SPM 2010. I salute her, even me myself can not achieve what she achieves. Congratulation if you read this post my friend :)

As for the SPM freshies, good luck in making your decision. Please remember that this will be a big move for you in deciding your future. Do contact me, directly or personally if you need some assistance.

Dependency to One

Credit to Arif Azami for the topic. 11 March 2012, Chong Wei loss to Lin Dan in All England 2012 Badminton tournament which is held in England. Shoulder injury caused him to forfeit the match. Thus, losing the tournament last week. So, what’s the relation with the topic today?

My topic today, Dependency to one, is about our dependency to one party in accomplishing our goals in our life. In this context, Malaysian's dependency to Lee Chong Wei for him to win the tournament. We as Malaysians are relying too much with him as Malaysian number one. Lee Chong Wei had to participate in a lot of tournaments to maintain his rank. In the first place, Why must be him? Why not others? Can’t we train other players to be like him?

As for Lin Dan, he can choose to play any tournament he want, thus having plenty of rest whenever he needs, if we see the statistic of games played between those two, is it really necessary to become world no 1? Are you going to represent Earthlings to participate in an inter-planet competition? No, it’s just for fame and reputation. Thus, my opinion is LCW should also give chance to others. Let us take and compare the participation for LCW and LD.

Humans have their own limit. Humans are bounded with millions of weakness and had made them vulnerable when stretched continuously in any matter or purpose they are doing. Same as LCW, he participated in a lot of tournaments, giving him fatigueness that leads to injury. Not just him, we ourselves, if we keep doing things and pushed our body to the limit for quite long time, we will get injured, no matter mentally or physically. Lets not depend on him to much. What will happen to Malaysia if something bad happen to him? or he suddenly had an accident and become permanently disabled?

Well, that’s all about human. What about Allah? Can we make Him as the one that we depend every day? Logically, there are millions of Muslims around the world that depend on him every seconds, minutes, hours, day, months and years. If he is similar to us, he won’t be able to grant all the wishes that human asks from him. If somebody had watched the movie below, we can see that this "god" cannot grant all the wishes that came from all the human.

Human cannot do the role of God.

But ALLAH is the God, the creator of the universe, the creator of all the things around us. He is capable to do everything that we ourselves cannot do as a weak creature. Dependency to him is not just for the happiness in this world. But also for the eternal happiness in the hereafter. We should depend on him in anything that we do, tawakkal. The best word to describe our dependency to Him, after giving our effort on something, say your prayers and tawakkal to Him. He knows what is best for us. Wallahua'lam.
As a human, lets us not only depend on human to achieve our goals in life. Maintain your relationship with Allah, our creator. Do what He asks and avoid what he don't ask :)

Windows 8, here we go !

Recently, Microsoft just released Windows 8, this is not a full version, yet it is not advisable to do a clean installation of Windows 8. you can install this either on a different partition or on a virtual environment software such as Virtual Box. The latest version for the Beta is Windows 8 Release Preview. before this, we had seen Windows 8 Consumer Preview, to be downloaded by consumers. Previously, Microsoft Windows 8 Developer Preview had been released earlier to the developers.

Now I am using it, but with dual boot system, still love my original Windows 7, don't believe me? Here take a look :D

Top left is the user control, see, my name is stated there. The colourful tiles are the applications shortcut that you can easily click whenever you want. But, bare in your mind, this is not the only thing that you will find in Win8. The desktop is still there, but with a little bit modification, no more Start button in the bottom left of the screen. Just role over the cursor and the start will appear.

Desktop

Top left of the screen is the part where we can change between the windows easily, refer Windows 8 Consumer Preview Official Demo . In the right side, is the new feature, (hidden) roll over your mouse to the right side to see it.

Windows Store with Metro UI :)

Not just Apple, BlackBerry and Android that have store, Windows also has their own store, enhanced with the Metro UI, the store looks just nice !

Just want to share the method I used to install Win8  :

Step 1 : Download Windows 8 ISO file from Windows.
Step 2 : I make partition in my hard disk using Windows Disk Management.
Step 3 : Create a bootable pendrive using WinUSBMaker . And burn the Win8 ISO file to my Pendrive. Refer Addictive Tips web for more info.
Step 4 : Boot my Asus to BIOS mode and change my boot from SATA Harddisk to my Pendrive.
Step 5 : Win8 installation should starts then :)
Step 6 : Just follow the instruction and proceed to Win8

The time I take is only 15 MINUTES to install Win8. It is worth to try !

For those wondering whether your computer is compatible to use Win8, this is the requirement to run :-
  • 1 GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
  • 1 GB RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver
  • Taking advantage of touch input requires a screen that supports multi-touch

Where to check this? Right-click My Computer and click Properties.

See your computer specs here !

There are still a lot of features to be shared here. Why not, use some of your leisure time to google up new info about Win8. For nearly a week I'm using Win8, I am still satisfied and recommend you guys to try, good luck !

That's all, Thanks for reading :)

POLITICS for student?

Students involve in politic, necessary or not? In Malaysia's public universities, we can see students raising their voices about politics. AUKU, university act n many more issues have been raised by student bodies as a sense of dissatisfaction to the the university's administration. Worse than that, there are also universities that their students split themselves into two big groups, 'aspirasi' and 'mahasiswa', both groups resembling government and opposition.

Above are some radical example about political affiliation in universities. There are also some students showing their political affiliation in Facebook, Twitter and other social network web.

Back to the point, is it necessary? My opinion in this matter is simple. We are in the stage of being an adult. So we need to involve in politics.. But, I don't mean that we have to involve in doing the campaign, provoking, commenting about the political party and so on. What I mean is about  getting the knowledge about the world of politics, know our leaders and their contribution towards the country.

Why is it necessary to have the knowledge? Because one day, we will be eligible to vote. Each vote counts in choosing our leader. That is the importance of voting. Only one vote is needed to determine the formation of a government. We will get the credits for each good deeds done by our leaders, so do the bad deeds.

Refer surah al-zalzalah 99 verse 7-8. Everything that we do, no matter it is small, or big, will be asked during the hereafter, so do as voting.

Just one advice from me ;
You can gain as much political knowledge as you want, but just keep your heads own until you are truly eligible involve in the political arena. Undi itu rahsia :)

Thanks!

11A's ? 10 A's? 9A's ? Useless in university.

A controversial topic today, please don't judge me yet. Read the whole post and you may do the judging.

In the school level, those are the target that become the dream of most student. Scholarship, good universities and flying overseas to further studies are a few examples that encourage students to have those targets during the school years, especially to those who are studying in the boarding school.

We are living in a result-oriented system that emphasize students to get good results to further studies in a good university, thus, ensuring a bright future in their life. Nevertheless, students who get poor results cannot enter good universities or even worst cant further their study at all unless, they have MONEY.

But, frankly speaking, studying in university is not the same as in school. Being excellence at school does not really ensure your excellence in university.

During our school days, we have teachers to provide us everything that we need for our study. Notes, hand outs and even tuition, all of those are provided for us. We are also being babbled, scolded and punished if we are being lazy in school. No wonder we can score very excellent marks during those days.

But here, in university, you have to be independent and this independent has nothing to do with that 'independent' that we get from the boarding school. The independence to keep our bed clean, to wash clothes by ourselves, to manage our money well. Those are nothing compared to the university life.

In university, the life will be completely different. No one will care about your study, except for the students who are self sponsored, their parents would care because of the high tuition fees nowadays. Other than that, you are free. This answers why some SBP and MRSM students fail in the university.

The most important thing is effort. Big effort, big success. Small effort, small success. These are the simple rules in the university. So, for the students who will get their SPM results later, just remember that the result is just a ticket to enter the university. Neither it will secure your future, nor your job. The real life has just begin :)
